Hallo from Sydney!
I’m here for the week visiting family and friends, and am then off to New Zealand to speak at the fabulous New Zealand Winegrowers Business Forum.
View from my balcony.
Podcasts will keep dropping as usual:
how to get huge returns with new DtC software;
a wine producer who has cracked not just the GenZ market, but also stadiums, arcades, cinemas, you name it; and
an interview with the world’s expert on wine additives, who also has plenty to say about the politics of alcohol and health — she was there when there was lots of excitement about alcohol research and talks about how we went from being curious about this ancient beverage, to being censorious.
As soon as I’m back at my desk, the newsletter will resume. It will be like waiting for a bus — there are none to be seen, and then a whole lot come at once.
I know the podcast has been wine heavy so far, but there are some interesting drinks innovators lined up for September and October, to balance things out.
Finally, a massive thank you to everybody who has been so supportive about the new Wine + Health podcast. I’ve been blown away by the response.
The next few Wine + Health podcast interviews have already been done, and now I’m angling to speak to some of the researchers and scientists who see any form of alcohol as a health hazard. It’s not easy to get anybody to speak on the record about this topic, but I’ll do my best.
As always, I am open to suggestions, comments and pitches. You can get hold of me at carter.felicity@gmail.com
